A “Hot” Visitor to Human Sexuality Class

Welcome to BrianHewlett.com. One of the ethnographic topics we are concerned with here is also one of the most taboo and controversial topics in the U.S. and throughout much of the world. Sexuality denotes the behavior that is performed in relation to objectifying one’s sexual orientation and the labels assigned it by society relative to whether or not it is consistent with normative expectations. I also teach about about sexuality at one of the local community colleges. A friend of mine, known as Gigi, who was featured on a segment of HBO’s Real Sex Episode 32 as a part of a fire fetish troupe, visited the class to talk about sexuality as a part of relationships. Here is a bit of that guest lecture.

I really enjoyed our guest speaker on sexuality orientation. in our society we have what is considered normal and acceptable. She shared with us her own experiences and how she was like most of our society and did not fully understand sexuality fully. Understanding sexuality does not only let you see how other sexualities work but also it will let you understand yourself. Our guest speaker also clearly showed us that sexuality is nothing to be ashamed of. In her relationship her sexuality and fetishes make it work even better and it works well for her.It may be considered not "norm" but it is something we all go through and our society needs to be more accepting.
