The last week has brought an incredible experience that has contributed greatly to my transformation and to affirming my understanding of true love and the tantric experience.
On the 27th of April, I witnessed a transmission/teaching by Guru Sri Kumaré at a Sound Garden Healing Workshop offered by my friend Darrell Hicks. After a wonderful [...]

In this blog I speak of a state of loving others here on Earth where we see ourselves, the lover, as a divine reflection and those we love as divine reflections; hence, the beloved and by doing so, foster human relationships that have no choice but to become more expansive and free of the pitfalls we experience. I argue that when one truly experiences themselves and others as a reflection of the divine, the understanding surfaces that each divine reflection operates from the universal center making another’s thoughts feelings and behaviors just as pure and from love as one’s own. I further argue that this understanding helps dispense with psychological hierarchies that end in arguments of “I’m right and you are wrong” and it liberates us from the idea that the mind and the body of the other are ours to possess since both beings are reflections of the same and there is nothing in the universe from which they are separate, which creates the need to possess.

Welcome to BrianHewlett.com. One of the ethnographic topics we are concerned with here is also one of the most taboo and controversial topics in the U.S. and throughout much of the world. Sexuality denotes the behavior that is performed in relation to objectifying one’s sexual orientation and the labels assigned it by society [...]

Is their another economic model that would benefit American producers? This post discusses the need for an alternative economic models, what people fear will be lost by abadoning the capitalist model, and what part collaboration and resource exchange can play in a new model.

Dr. C. Owen Lovejoy argued decades ago that human pairing behaviors are as old as bipedalism and hence sexual behaviors including mating rituals between humans as we know it has been around since that time. A recent story offered by Reuters offers video of Greek and Roman artifacts, which reveal attitudes towards sexual behavior that were extremely uninhibited. The ancient Hindus involved love and sex in all aspects of their being as both were believed to be bestowed upon them by the gods. This is reflected in the the sensuous treatise of the Kama Sutra, which is an integral part of a larger collection of ancient Indian texts originally religious in essence called the Kama Shastra or Discipline of Kama, the Hindu god of love. This book about the human sensual essence expressed through sexual behavior is ascribes to religious faith and tradition.
